25 New Geo-collections have been ratified

The Sub-commission on Geo-collections endeavor has made an important step forward consolidating this initiative with the recognition of 25 new Geo-collections in 2025. Between January and November 2025, a total of 34 proposals from 16 countries were submitted. Each proposal has been evaluated by 5 evaluators from a pool of more than 49 experts.

All the new Geo-collections will be presented in the IUGS 2026 Geoheritage event that will be hosted in Algarvensis Geopark on November 4-8th. Save the Date! and join us in this unique event.
