14 New Heritage Stones have been ratified

After the publication of the book with the First 55 Heritage Stones, this Sub-commission has made an important step forward recognizing 14 new Heritage Stones an consolidating this initiative as a global movement. Between January and November 2025, a total of 17 proposals were submitted. Each proposal has been evaluated by 5 evaluators from a pool of more than 30 experts.

All the new Heritage Stones will be presented in the IUGS 2026 Geoheritage event that will be hosted in Algarvensis Geopark on November 4-8th. Save the Date!
