In November 2021 the new officers of the IUGS – International Commission on Geoheritage and the IUGS Secretary General met in Zumaia with the goal of establishing the pillar of the new commission and sub-commissions. The statutes of the IUGS – International Commission on Geoheritage were discussed and unanimously adopted. The strategic plan for 2021 – 2023 was also defined and unanimously approved.
The IUGS – International Commission on Geoheritage and Basque Coast UNESCO Global Geopark took the initiative to host the “First 100” announcement as the IUGS 60th anniversary main event.
